ABOUT ME

I first began my journey to become an archaeologist and forensic artist at the University of Southampton, where I received a first class degree in Archaeology and Anthropology, with a year abroad to the University of Western Ontario, Canada. My time in Canada focused my interests towards human osteology, specifically palaeodiet and palaeopathology. On returning to Southampton, I pushed myself by taking Masters level modules in osteology and reconstructed my very first archaeological face for my dissertation - which received the best dissertation award that year.

Following my newfound passion, I enrolled in University of Dundee's prestigious MSc Forensic Art & Facial identification course, where I broadened my anatomical knowledge with their amazing Thiel cadavers, practised facial reconstructions and developed my artistic skills. Additionally, I learned how to conduct cognitive interviews, act as an expert witness for court and produce medio-legal artworks. This includes, but is not limited to: anatomical illustrations, post-mortem depictions, artificial age progressions, composite sketching, forensic/archaeological facial reconstructions and CCTV/Image analysis.

During this year I started receiving commissions for 2D Digital facial approximations, amongst other artworks, and continued my employment as a research assistant for the Humanities European Research Area, via the University of Southampton.

Amazingly, despite personal difficulties and the impact of the global pandemic, I am very happy to announce that I received a Distinction from Dundee, with another first class archaeological facial reconstruction for the Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions project, Woman at the Edge of Empire: Female Social Identity in the Lower Danube in 4th-6th Centuries AD.

Next Steps...

I'm pleased to announce I have been awarded a full studentship by the LJMU PhD VC Scholarship Scheme. I'll be starting a PhD at Liverpool John Moores' University  in 2021.

My focus will, of course, be on facial reconstructions!
